Job Title: Sunquest Laboratory PM/Analyst

Client: East Coast hospital system is undergoing a new Epic installation from Meditech

Contract Length: 12 Months

Location: Remote

Start Date: January 2026

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Sunquest Laboratory Project Manager/Analyst to lead and support key initiatives within the laboratory informatics environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Sunquest expertise, a solid background in clinical laboratory workflows, and proven experience overseeing project delivery from planning through go-live.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary PM/Analyst for Sunquest Laboratory projects, enhancements, and optimization initiatives.
  • Lead project planning, timelines, requirements gathering, scope management, and status reporting.
  • Conduct workflow analysis and translate operational needs into technical specifications.
  • Configure, test, validate, and support Sunquest Lab modules (e.g., LIS, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Orders/Results).
  • Coordinate with Lab Directors, IT teams, interface engineers, and vendors to drive successful outcomes.
  • Facilitate system upgrades, patches, regression testing, and change control documentation.
  • Troubleshoot issues, analyze root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Provide end-user support, training coordination, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet regulatory, quality, and compliance standards (e.g., CAP, CLIA, HIPAA).


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Sunquest Laboratory systems.
  • Strong background in clinical laboratory workflows and operations.
  • Proven track record as a Project Manager and Systems Analyst in healthcare IT or LIS environments.
  • Experience with system configuration, testing, validation, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with HL7 interfaces, orders/results workflows, and integration with EMRs (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
