Our West Coast Healthcare client is seeking a Financial Analyst III – Accounting to support financial reporting, cost accounting, forecasting, and analysis within the general accounting function. This role is part of a collaborative accounting team and is aligned with Research and Grants, with a focus on healthcare cost reporting and reimbursement. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to clearly communicate financial insights to a variety of stakeholders. This 100% remote role will kick off in the next few weeks and continue for the next 18+ months.

Key Responsibilities

• Support financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and benchmarking activities
• Assist with operating and capital budget planning and business performance analysis
• Perform healthcare cost reporting and reimbursement analysis, including research and grants reporting
• Maintain financial reporting and cost accounting systems, ensuring data accuracy and reconciliation
• Utilize Healthcare Cost Accounting Information (HCAI) systems for cost reporting and analysis
• Develop financial models, forecasts, and feasibility analyses to support decision-making
• Analyze financial results, identify variances, and communicate findings to finance and non-finance partners
• Serve as a technical resource for accounting and finance staff, particularly in advanced Excel analysis
• Support general accounting operations as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong accounting experience, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Experience with healthcare cost reporting and reimbursement, including HCAI systems
• Experience supporting research and grants accounting or cost reporting
• Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment
