Our East Coast Healthcare client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to oversee and manage all payroll operations across their system. This role ensures accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing while driving process improvements and automation initiatives. The Payroll Manager collaborates closely with Finance, HR, Benefits, and department managers to support organizational efficiency and compliance. This 100% onsite (Kingston NY) has an initial duration of 1 year.

Key Responsibilities

• Process payroll for all companies within the system
• Oversee day-to-day payroll administration and coordinate with payroll managers across the network
• Complete retroactive payroll adjustments as needed
• Partner with department managers to resolve payroll-related issues
• Ensure compliance with garnishments, tax regulations, and federal/state laws
• Collaborate with Finance leadership and Network Director of Payroll
• Implement automation improvements to enhance payroll productivity and accuracy
• Work with HR and Benefits to ensure accurate data integration
• Support internal and external audits
• Assist with payroll-related budgeting processes
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 4 years of payroll management experience
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance
• Experience with automated payroll, scheduling, and timekeeping systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to interpret data and present clear reports
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve complex payroll issues

Preferred

• FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification
• Experience processing payroll using Paragon
• Knowledge of UKG systems
