Job Summary:
Senior Consultant Advisors Nimmy Shibu is recruiting this position.
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and oversee the Payroll Services function. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of employee wages and deductions, while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies.
The Payroll Manager will serve as a key resource for resolving technical, system, and employee payroll inquiries, and will ensure the integrity of payroll-related general ledger accounts through regular reconciliations. This position also partners cross-functionally to support strategic payroll initiatives, system enhancements, and continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Oversee payroll tax compliance, including quarterly and year-end filings and reconciliations
- Maintain and reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts
- Respond to and resolve payroll-related inquiries from internal staff and external agencies
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls
- Lead and support payroll system upgrades, enhancements, and implementations
- Collaborate with HR, Information Services, and Shared Services teams
- Develop and execute strategic payroll and timekeeping initiatives
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of payroll experience within large ERP and timekeeping systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, ADP, Kronos, Workday, or similar)
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience in a complex, high-volume 24/7 environment with multiple payroll cycles preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, payroll tax regulations, and financial reporting
- Proven experience managing payroll compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions
- Demonstrated project management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Experience:
- Healthcare or large enterprise environment
- Experience with payroll system transformations or integrations
