The Performance & Talent Development, Program Manager fosters and strengthens our healthcare client's people-centered culture, empowering high performance and allowing employees to do their best work, thereby boosting engagement, enhancing employee productivity, and positively contributing to the organization's strategic priorities. This role manages the enterprise-wide performance management and relevant skills acquisition strategies for employees. Through partnerships across HR and the organization, this role will champion performance outcomes and employee growth as a key driver to engagement. This is a hybrid role with the expectation of being on-site 1 week per month in the New England area.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the annual performance management process for managers and employees across the organization to reach higher levels of consistency, performance accountability, coaching, feedback, development, career growth, and organizational results.
  • Document standard processes and annual timelines; leverage technology solutions (e.g., Cornerstone) to solve inefficiencies and improve processes.
  • Conduct formal needs assessments and identify performance gaps; identify learning objectives and other performance enhancement solutions; consider timelines and resource requirements needed to achieve scale.
  • Build scalable solutions around the goal setting and performance review/coaching process; build the capability of HR and leaders to support robust performance feedback and uncover trends and drivers that enhance performance.
  • Partner with HRBPs, Talent Management and Employee Relations to provide resources, training and coaching on difficult situations and performance management best practices to support managerial coaching skills and improved performance accountability.
  • Build a diverse portfolio of customized and on-demand professional development programs that address organizational needs, from onboarding to professional skills; conduct formal train-the-trainer sessions along with other progressive delivery models.
  • Integrate and promote all talent development, engagement, workforce development, career development, wellness, and other initiatives throughout the performance management process
  • Create communication channels to reach a diverse employee audience.
  • Use competency models to enable career pathing, workforce planning, high-potential talent pools, and development planning to help employees grow at every stage of their career
  • Provide expert facilitation of programs, both virtually and in person; develop toolkits and reinforcement approaches to foster a continuous learning and development culture.
  • Drive adoption and engagement for the performance management process and talent development programs. Evaluate program effectiveness metrics (both qualitative and quantitative) and provide quarterly and YOY reporting; create business cases that demonstrate program impact and ROI. Manage vendor contracts, establish relationships; monitor and assess effectiveness of vendor developed programs; and create “buy” vs. “build” proposals that document cost-effectiveness per learner.

Requirements:

  • 7 years of experience in talent development with success managing large-scale programs and experience managing staff.
  • Critical and strategic thinking to build professional development tracks aligned with the client's strategy and business objectives.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a high tolerance for shifting priorities.
  • Able to work within ambiguity and meet deadlines.
  • Highly collaborative and uses feedback to improve programs and outcomes.
  • Ability to support large scale change initiatives.
  • Ability to prepare, write, and edit proposals, learning content, toolkits, and project deliverables, including briefing slides and assessment reports.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in human resources, leadership development, performance improvement, with expertise in learning design (ADDIE), adult learning principles, personality assessments, and group facilitation.
  • Familiar with Kirkpatrick or Phillips levels of evaluation; ability to analyze data to produce insights that inform future strategy.
  • Analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems.
  • Highly developed communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions as well as outstanding presentation skills. Advanced computer/technology skills, including Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft 365, Zoom, Teams, SharePoint, LMS, and other. Remain current in the fields of professional development, education, management, organizational effectiveness, performance, and learning technology

  • Certified Performance Technologist (CPT)
  • Certified Performance Improvement Facilitator Designation
  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD)
  • ATD Master Performance Consultant
  • SHRM Certifications
