Principal Financial Analyst (Healthcare) – Contract

Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid)

Job Type: Contract

We are seeking an experienced Principal Financial Analyst to support a leading healthcare organization in Philadelphia, PA. This hybrid contract opportunity is ideal for a finance professional with a strong healthcare industry background who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can provide high-level financial analysis, reporting, and strategic decision support to executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and decision support activities for divisional leadership within a healthcare environment
• Serve as a strategic liaison between finance operations and senior leadership teams
• Own the month-end close process, including journal entry preparation, financial review, variance analysis, and ensuring reporting accuracy
• Develop and deliver monthly financial reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations
• Analyze financial performance trends and provide actionable recommendations to leadership
• Support the annual operating budget process and partner with department leaders to review financial performance and operational metrics
• Contribute to strategic financial planning initiatives alongside executive leadership, including the COO, CFO, and senior finance leadership
• Present financial findings and recommendations in leadership meetings and executive forums
• Mentor junior analysts and support the ongoing development of the finance team
• Drive collaboration across finance, operations, and other cross-functional departments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• Background in Finance, Accounting, or Information Technology
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive finance, accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis experience within a healthcare system
• Healthcare industry experience is required
• Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and variance analysis
• Advanced experience with Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Reports, and EPIC
• Excellent communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting large healthcare systems or academic medical centers
• Proven ability to influence leadership decision-making through financial insights and reporting
• Experience creating executive presentations and presenting to senior leadership teams
