Workday FIN Practice Director
Job Order #032443- Posted On: June 11, 2026
- Position Title: Workday FIN Practice Director
- Position Type: Contract
- Work Location: Remote
Job Summary:
Consultant Advisor, ERP Kyle Johnson is recruiting this position.
About the Role
Healthcare IT Leaders is seeking a Workday Financial Management Practice Director to join our growing Workday ERP practice as a full-time hire. This is a high-impact leadership role embedded within a large-scale health system implementation, driving financial workstream delivery from day one.
As Practice Director, you will lead financial workstream delivery, mentor consultants, and serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders. You bring deep Workday Financials expertise, a track record of delivery from the partner side, and the executive presence to navigate complex healthcare environments with confidence and clarity.
At Healthcare IT Leaders, humans are in the loop. You won't be a seat at a desk — you'll be a decision-maker shaping outcomes for a mission-driven health system.
What You'll Do
- Direct the Workday Financial Management workstream on a large-scale health system implementation, owning scope, timeline, and quality end-to-end.
- Lead and mentor a team of Workday Financials consultants, providing guidance on design decisions, configuration, and testing.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client finance and ERP leadership, translating complex system capabilities into actionable decisions.
- Drive design and build across Core Financials, Financial Data Model (FDM), Banking & Settlement, and related modules.
- Facilitate workstream governance, status reporting, and executive level communications.
- Partner with cross-functional delivery teams (HCM, Supply Chain, Integration) to ensure financial architecture alignment.
- Support change management, end-user training planning, and go-live readiness activities.
- Identify risks early, escalate appropriately, and lead resolution with structured thinking and collaborative problem-solving.
- Contribute to Healthcare IT Leaders' broader Workday FIN practice through knowledge-sharing, methodology refinement, and talent development.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on Workday experience, with a significant portion focused on Financial Management
- Partner-side (consulting firm or Workday Services Partner) experience required — you understand delivery accountability, not just client-side support.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex Workday Financials implementations in healthcare or comparably regulated environments.
- Deep functional expertise across Core Financials, FDM, and Banking & Settlement
- Strong communication skills — capable of presenting to both technical teams and C-suite finance leaders.
- Proven people management and team leadership capabilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed project environment with multiple stakeholders.
Certifications & Credentials
The following Workday certifications are required:
- Core Financials
- Financial Data Model (FDM)
Additional Workday certifications (Banking & Settlement, Financial Accounting, Procurement, Expenses, Reporting) are a plus.
The following designation is preferred:
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
