Manager of Leave

Hybrid, Client Located in Nashville, TN

Healthcare IT Leaders is seeking a Manager of Leave for a hybrid contract opportunity based in Nashville, TN, supporting a healthcare client.

Responsibilities:

• Build and lead a dedicated team of Leave Administration Specialists responsible for FMLA administration, ADA interactive process management, and medical leave coordination
• Establish and oversee a centralized leave intake mailbox to streamline case management, improve workload distribution, and ensure consistent response times
• Manage return-to-work processes, including tracking anticipated return dates, medical releases, work restrictions, and coordinating accommodations
• Oversee leave denials and appeals, ensuring accurate documentation and consistent application of policy
• Maintain regular, proactive communication with employees throughout the leave process, providing guidance on leave requirements, deadlines, and available benefits
• Educate employees and leaders on leave processes, including maternity leave benefits, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), and short-term disability options
• Ensure timely, compliant handling of ADA interactive process conversations between HR, employees, managers, and medical providers
• Standardize leave administration practices, reporting, and metrics tracking across multiple markets, including accurate leave coding within UKG

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing FMLA, ADA, and other leave and accommodation programs
• Prior experience building, leading, or mentoring a specialized leave or HR administration team
• Strong working knowledge of leave compliance requirements, including PWFA and interactive process documentation
• Experience with UKG or comparable HRIS platforms for leave coding and case tracking
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support employees through sensitive, complex situations
• Demonstrated ability to standardize processes and manage centralized intake or case management workflows across multiple locations
